Ron Conway agrees – hiring top engineering talent is hard.

Ron Conway is known as one of the savviest tech investors around – he is the founder of SV Angel and has picked a slew of winners including Twitter, Groupon, Dropbox, Square, and Airbnb.

Ron was interviewed by CNET a few days ago. When asked what he thought to be the biggest dangers facing new entrepreneurs right now, Ron Conway replied: “It’s hard to hire engineers“.

A big reason for this is that engineers are typically young, energetic, often single people who don’t necessarily want to live close to where many startups are located, in quiet towns like Mountain View, Palo Alto or Los Gatos. They want to live in vibrant cities like San Francisco, San Jose, or Oakland – but don’t want to spend two hours per day behind the wheel of a car.

RidePal has the answer – with RidePal companies can attract and retain top engineering talent by making it possible for their employees live where they want to, while looking forward to their commute rather than dreading it.
